COMPOSITION
DOXYCURE 10% Oral Solution is a yellow-brown clear solution and contains 115.4 mg Doxycycline hyclate equivalent to 100 mg Doxycycline and 4 mg sodium formaldehyde sulfoxylate as a preservative in each ml.
INDICATION FOR USE
It is used in the treatment of digestive and respiratory system infections caused by the susceptible bacteria listed below.
Pre-ruminant calf:
- Bronchopneumonia ve pleuropneumonia caused by
Pasteurella spp., Streptococcus spp., Arcanobacterium pyogenes, Histophilus somni and
Mycoplasma spp.
Chicken:
- Respiratory system infections caused by
Mycoplasma spp., Escherichia coli, Haemophilus paragallinarum, Bordetella avium
- Digestive system infections caused by
Clostridium perfringens ve
Clostridium colinum
- Additionally, reducing lesions and morbidity in the respiratory system caused by
Ornithobacterium rhinotracheale
Turkey:
Respiratory system infections caused by
Mycoplasma gallisepticum
ADMINISTRATION ROUTES AND AMOUNTS
Administered by mixing with milk replacer and/or drinking water.
Calve: Administered at the dose of 10 mg doxycycline hyclate / kg body weight/day (0,1 ml product/kg body weight/day) for 3-5 days, divided into two equal daily doses.
Chicken: Administered at the dose of 25 mg doxycycline hyclate /kg body weight/day (0,25 ml product/kg body weight/day) for 3-5 days.
Turkey: Administered at the dose of 29 mg doxycycline hyclate /kg body weight/day (0,29 ml product/kg body weight/day) for 3-5 days.
For the administration through the drinking water, the practical dose of the product can be calculated according to the following formula:

To ensure a correct dosage body weight should be determined as accurately as possible. The uptake of medicated water is dependent on the clinical conditions of the animals. In order to obtain the correct dosage, the concentration in drinking water may have to be adjusted.
The use of suitably calibrated weighing equipment is recommended The daily amount is to be added to the medicated water should be adjusted to be consumed within 24 hours. Medicated drinking water should be freshly prepared every 24 hours. It is recommended to first mix the product thoroughly with some water (creating a concentrated premix), and then, if necessary, dilute this mixture with the required amount of water.
It should be ensured that all animals intended to be treated have easy access to medicated water supplies. Irrigation equipment should be adequately cleaned after treatment to prevent the sub-therapeutic intake of the product. During the treatment, medicated water should be the only source of water for the animals. Medicated water should not be prepared or stored in a metal container, rusted equipment should not be used in these processes. The solubility of the product is pH-dependent and can precipitate if mixed in high alkaline drinking water.
WITHDRAWAL PERIOD(S)
During treatment and following the last treatment, chickens should not be sent for slaughter for 5 days, also turkeys for 12 days, and also calves for 7 days. It is not used in poultry, producing eggs for human consumption. It is not used in cattle, producing milk for human consumption. It should not be used in hens 4 weeks before the start of the egg-laying period.
