COMPOSITION
Rifacure DC Intramammary Suspension is a sterile suspension in colors ranging from red to orange, each 5 g; contains 100 mg of Rifaximin and 5 mg of methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218) as a preservative.
INDICATIONS FOR USER
Rifacure DC intramamary suspension is used in cows and buffalloes at the beginning of the dry period, in the following situations.:
-therapy of subclinical mastitis
-prevention of new infections during the dry period
-prevention of acute mastitis which may arise at parturition due to pathogens sensitive to rifaximin, in particular: Staphylococcus aureus (included penicillin-resistant strains) Streptococcus agalactiae, Streptococcus dysgalactiae, Streptococcus uberis,and Trueperella pyogenes (Actinomyces pyogenes)]
ADMINISTRATION ROUTES AND AMOUNTS
Rifacure DC intramamary suspension is applied to each under after the last milking, at least 7 weeks prior to the presumed date of calving.
After the milk in each breast is emptied, especially the nipples are disinfected with a suitable preparation. The outer protective cover of the Rifacure DC intramammary syringe is removed, the cannula is inserted into the papillary duct and the entire syringe is injected. While holding the nipple with one hand, massage it upwards with the thumb and index fingers of the other hand. Then, the breast lobe is massaged with both hands to ensure that the medicine is distributed evenly throughout the breast.
WITHDRAWAL PERIOD(S)
It is 0 (zero) days for cow and buffalo meat and offal during the treatment and following the last drug administration. If the dry period for milk is 35 days or more, zero days after calving (0); If the dry period is less than 35 days, the milk can be offered for human consumption 35 days after the treatment.
