COMPOSITION
Pneumast Injectable Suspension, a creamy-white, sterile suspension, contains 115.5 mg Ampicillin trihydrate and 250,000 IU Colistin sulphate equivalent to 100 mg ampicillin per ml, 0.250 mg Dexamethasone acetate equivalent to 0.226 mg dexamethasone, 0.009 ml Benzyl alcohol (E 1519) as an antimicrobial preservative and 0.180 mg Butylhydroxyanisole (E 320) as an antioxidant preservative.
INDICATIONS FOR USE
It is used in the treatment of the following bacterial infections caused by bacteria sensitive to ampicillin and colistin in cattle and horses:
- Respiratory system infections caused by Histophilus somni, Mannheimia haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida,
- Digestive system infections caused by Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp.,
- Urogenital system infections caused by Escherichia coli, Pasteurella spp., Pseudomonas spp. and Fusobacterium spp.,
- Septicemia caused by Escherichia coli.
ADMINISTRATION ROUTES AND AMOUNTS
Shake the bottle well before use.
Administered intramuscularly.
Pharmacological dose: 10 mg ampicillin, 25000 IU colistin and 0.023 mg dexamethasone /kg body weight
Practical dose: 1 ml (0.1 g ampicillin, 250 000 IU colistin and 0.23 mg dexamethasone) for every 10 kg body weight once a day administered intramuscularly. This dose should be administered every 24 hours for 3 consecutive days.

In severe cases, every 12 hours. To ensure correct dosage, determine body weight as accurately as possible to avoid underdosing.
WITHDRAWAL PERIOD(S)
Cattle should not be sent to slaughter during treatment and within 60 days after the last drug application. Cow milk obtained during treatment and within 14 days (equal to 28 milkings) after the last drug application should not be offered for human consumption.

Pneumast Injectable Suspension is offered for sale in 50 ml, 100 ml and 250 ml type II colorless glass vials closed with a gray bromobutyl rubber stopper and a transparent aluminum flip-off cap inside a cardboard box.
