COMPOSITION
Flortek Injectable Solution is a colorless or pale yellow colored, clear, slightly viscous and sterile solution. Each ml contains 300 mg of florfenicol.
INDICATIONS FOR USE
Flortek Injectable Solution is used in cattle for the treatment of infections caused by microorganisms sensitive to florfenicol.
- Respiratory system infections (BRD, pleuropneumonia, bronchitis, tonsillitis) caused by Pasteurella haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida, Haemophilus somnus, Corynebacterium pyogenes and other microorganisms sensitive to florfenicol
- Bacterial foot diseases such as foot rot caused by Fusobacterium necrophorum and Bacteroides melaninogenicus, interdigital necrobacillosis and also infectious pododermatitis
- Infectious keratoconjunctivitis (pink eye) caused by Moraxella bovis
ADMINISTRATION ROUTES AND AMOUNTS
Unless advised otherwise by the veterinarian, it is used as follows:
Intramuscular application: In cattle, it is administered only to the neck region at the dose of 1 ml for 15 kg bw (20 mg florfenicol / kg bw). It keeps its effective concentration in blood for 48 hours.
Subcutaneous application: In cattle, it is administered at the dose of 2 ml for 15 kg bw (40 mg florfenicol / kg bw) in cattle. It keeps its effective concentration in blood for 84 - 156 hours (3.5 - 6.5 days). Single dosage is sufficient for subcutaneous application.
Injecting more than 10 ml of the solution to the same injection site is not recommended. Dose should be divided and injected into different sites in such conditions. Injections should be done only on the neck. Asepsis and antisepsis should be taken into account during the administration.
WITHDRAWAL PERIOD(S)
Cattle should not be slaughtered during the treatment and for 30 days following the last drug application for intramuscular administration and for 44 days for subcutaneous administration. Do not use in lactating cows producing milk for human consumption.
