ADMINISTRATION ROUTES AND AMOUNTS
Chicken and Turkeys
It is administered at a dose of 10 mg/kg body weight per day via drinking water for 3 to 5 consecutive days, depending on the severity of the infection. In mixed infections and chronic progressive forms, it should be administered for 5 consecutive days.
If no clinical improvement is observed within 2-3 days, an alternative antimicrobial treatment should be considered based on susceptibility testing results.
It is important to ensure that the entire dose is consumed. Medicated water should be prepared fresh daily and immediately before administration to the animals.
During treatment, animals should not be allowed access to other water sources. To avoid underdosing, body weight should be calculated as accurately as possible.
Pump systems should be regularly monitored to ensure proper medication delivery. The water system should be emptied and refilled with medicated water before starting treatment.
The daily amount of the product (ml) required during the treatment is calculated as follows:
Total number of poultry × Average body weight (kg) × 0.1 = Daily total volume (ml)
The consumption of medicated water by animals may vary depending on clinical condition, age, gender, and environmental temperature. Therefore, the concentration of medicated water may need adjustment to ensure the correct dose. The use of appropriately calibrated weighing equipment is recommended.
Rabbits
A dose of 10 mg/kg body weight/day for 5 consecutive days.
The daily amount of the product required during the treatment is calculated as follows:
Total number of rabbits × Average body weight (kg) × 0.1 = Daily total volume (ml)
WITHDRAWAL PERIOD(S)
During the treatment period and after the last drug application, chickens should not be sent to slaughter for 7 days, turkeys for 13 days and rabbits for 3 days.
