COMPOSITION
Ceftisin Injectable Suspension is a white - cream colored, ready to use sterile suspension after shaking. Each ml contains ceftiofur HCl equivalent to 50 mg of ceftiofur.
INDICATIONS FOR USE
Ceftisin Injectable Suspension is used in cattle in the treatment of respiratory system infections and soft tissue infections caused by bacteria sensitive to ceftiofur, especially in the treatment of transit disease and similar pneumonias. It is used in the treatment of Mannheimia sp. (Pasteurella haemolytica), Pasteurella multocida, Haemophilus somnus based respiratory system infections, acute interdigital necrobacillosis (pododermatitis, foot rot) resulting from Fusobacterium necrophorum and Bacteroides melaninogenicus, acute mastitis, post parturition acute puerperal metritis caused by E. coli, Arcanobacterium pyogenes and Fusobacterium necrophorum.
ADMINISTRATION ROUTES AND AMOUNTS
Shake the vial vigorously to obtain a homogeneous suspension. Unless advised otherwise by the veterinarian, Ceftisin Injectable Suspension is administered to cattle intramuscularly (IM) and subcutaneously (SC) at the dose of 1 mg/kg bw / day.
Practically; it is administered at the dose of 1 ml / 50 kg bw. Single administration is done per day and application is continued for 3 days. If the intended result is not obtained, continue the administration for 2 more days. Injecting more than 10 ml of the solution to the same injection site is not recommended. In this case, dose should be divided and injected into different sites. Intravenous injection is contraindicated.
WITHDRAWAL PERIOD(S)
Cattle should not be slaughtered during the treatment and for 7 days following the last drug injection. Withdrawal period is 0 (zero) days for cow milk.
