Veterinary Antibacterial for Lactation Period
COMPOSITION
Mastitek Intramammary Suspension is a white or light cream - yellowish colored suspension. Each 10 g injector tube contains 200 mg of cephalexin monohydrate and 100,000 IU of kanamycin monosulfate.
INDICATIONS FOR USE
It is used in the treatment of clinical mastitis caused by the most commonly seen microorganisms Staphylococcus, Streptococcus and E. coli in lactating dairy cows.
ADMINISTRATION ROUTES AND AMOUNTS
Before use, the infected udder should be milked out and the teat should be cleaned with a suitable disinfectant. One tube is applied for each cleaned lobe. It is recommended to re-disinfect the teat after the drug administration. The application is repeated in the same way on the next milking.
WITHDRAWAL PERIOD(S)
Cattle should not be slaughtered for human consumption during the treatment and for 10 days following the last treatment. Cow milk should not be used for human consumption during the treatment and for 5 (10 milkings) days following the last application.
