Veterinary Systemic Antibacterial
COMPOSITION
Doxycure 75% Powder for Oral Solution is a yellow - pale yellow colored fine powder. Each g contains 865.5 mg of doxycycline hyclate equivalent to 750 mg of doxycycline.
 
INDICATIONS FOR USE
Doxycure 75% Powder for Oral Solution is used in calves, chickens and turkeys in the treatment of infections caused by sensitive bacteria.
 
Calves: In the treatment of bacterial diarrhea, colisepticemia, colibacillosis, chlamydiosis, bronchopneumonia, polyarthritis, diphtheria, umbilical infections and other respiratory and digestive system infections.
 
Chickens and turkeys: In the treatment of diarrhea, colisepticemia, chronic respiratory system disease (CRD), ornithosis (Chlamydia psittaci), air sac infections, blue comb, salpingitis, poultry cholera, infectious coryza and Staphylococcus infections.
 
ADMINISTRATION ROUTES AND AMOUNTS
Doxycure 75% Powder for Oral Solution’s active ingredient doxycycline’s pharmacological dose is 10 mg/kg bw / day for calves, 20 mg/kg bw / day for chickens and turkeys. Since it’s easily soluble in water, mix with drinking water and then apply. Unless advised otherwise by the veterinarian, applications are as follows:
 
Calves: Mix 1 g of Doxycure 75% Powder for Oral Solution per 75 kg bw with drinking water and administer orally. Divide the daily dose in two portions and give at 12 hour intervals. Continue the treatment for 3 - 5 days.
 
Chickens and turkeys: Mix 20 g of Doxycure 75% Powder for Oral Solution per 750 kg bw with drinking water and administer orally. Do not provide water to animals for 2 - 3 hours prior to drug application. Prepare the medicated water daily. Continue the treatment for 5 days.
 
WITHDRAWAL PERIOD(S)
Calves, chickens and turkeys should not be slaughtered for human consumption during the treatment and respectively for 14, 4 and 6 days following the last treatment. It should not be used in laying hens and turkeys producing eggs for human consumption.
 
MARKETING PACKAGING
Sold as 20 g in white colored polyethylene bottle inside cardboard box and 500 g, 1 kg and 2.5 kg in white colored polyethylene bottles without boxes.
